Consumer Electronics Show 2018
Last week was the World famous Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Vegas where the latest gadgets and innovations are often unveiled.
An early Drone highlight was the show put on by Intel and their drones, flying in formation in time with the fountain display at the Bellagio Hotel >>>
The people at TechRadar also picked out the autonomous flying Volocopter and PowerVision’s PowerDolphin for on-surface and underwater photography and video.
Yuneec feature at CES 2018
I was really impressed with Yuneec when I saw them at the UK Drone Show back in November.
At CES they announced three new additions to their line up; a serious upgrade to their Yuneec Typhoon H+, a fixed wing Firebird FPV and a brand new racing drone called the HD Racer >>>
No Go for GoPro Karma
GoPro also chose CES to announce that they were ceasing production of their Karma drone and move out of the drone business. If you own one, they have said that they will continue to support existing customers but they are going to re-focus on action cameras which is their core business.
Can DJI Break into the mini-drone market?
For me, the most exciting news was that DJI (with Ryze Robotics) are moving in to the toy selfie-drone arena with a new drone called the Tello. Due to be released in March/ April in the UK priced at £99.
